ODACITÉ: Product Review

ODACITÉ: Product Review

I’m a bit late to the party of clean beauty. ODACITÉ is not the first clean beauty product line I’ve ever tried but it is the first time I’ve ever solely used it for my skincare routine. I’ve been using the line for over a month now and there are a handful of products I will be purchasing again, along with a few new ones I have my eyes on.

Start with cleansing

I’m a huge fan of an oil cleanser as a pre-cleanse. My love for using this type of makeup remover goes back to my late teens when I was still experiencing bad breakouts. It was a game changer. Using an oil to first remove my makeup before cleansing really did improve my skin. It is something I’m grateful that I learned early on. My love for oils was reinforced when I worked for Shu Uemura which is known for their wide selection of cleansing oils. The Montana Harvest Omega Oil Cleanser does its job well, easily breaks down makeup, emulsifies nicely and doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily after rinsing.

I have been using the Blue Aura Cleansing Water in my makeup kit mainly for prepping my clients’ skin. It is a great pre-makeup cleanser but not something I have been using on myself since the extra step of using a product with a cotton pad just isn’t for me. I’ve yet to decide if this will become a staple in my kit… stay tuned.

I love a mist

I have about 5 mists going at any given time. I always spritz my skin prior to my serums, often use them throughout the day and will use them to reset or set makeup as well. The Rose + Neroli Hydra-Vitalizing Treatment Mist has a really lovely scent and is very gentle on my skin. Initially I was not a fan of the spray bottle itself since it’s not quite as fine a mist as my all-time favourite but I do like this product and likely will use it again.

Let’s talk serums

I took part in a masterclass hosted by LA makeup artist Katy Denno and ODACITÉ founder, Valérie Grandury for the Detox Market, which is how I was introduced to the line. Neither of these serums were part of the featured products, but the Vitamin C & E + Hyaluronic Acid Serum got a shout out, that if there was a Vitamin C to use, this was the one. I added it to my cart immediately because I was in the market since my current was out. I’ve noticed an improvement in my skin since using this product; I feel refreshed and less dull. Bottom line, it’s becoming a staple in my skincare routine.

The Ac + r Youthful Glow Açai-Rose Serum Concentrate was something I’d heard about. I’d read an article about another artist loving it, so I thought I’d give it a try as well. At first, I was a little unsure because of the colour of the serum, but it actually gave my skin a bit of warmth which was nice in the winter months. I will have to keep using it to see more long-term results, but I do feel that it gave my skin a beautiful glow.

Le Blue Balm

My initial reaction to this cream was how beautiful the colour was; it drew me in instantly. I was a bit concerned it might be too hydrating for my skin but now, I have really fallen in love with the Le Blue Balm. I use a small amount, and would recommend testing it under makeup to see if it works with your foundation. I’m all about a dewy complexion so it works for me. I have been working it into client skin-prep routines to hydrate the skin, then re-cleansing with the micellar water so that the skin is less slick prior to foundation.

Cryo-Tech Facial Tool

I instantly noticed the difference when I first used the new Cryo-Tech Facial Tool. My skin feels soothed and is noticeably less puffy. I have been using it frequently in my work, and clients love it.

I’m sure as I try more clean skincare lines I’ll discover other products I love. For now, this was a great brand to start with. Stay tuned for more on my clean beauty journey.

xx

Katie.
