5 Tips For Achieving The “Dewy Look”

5 Tips For Achieving The “Dewy Look”

Tip 1:

Tools make a difference. A few good brushes and tools will really change how your products go on. Yes, I still use my fingers a ton but they don't cut it for everything. Four tools that I always use are good quality sponges, a concealer brush, a fluffy powder brush and a blush brush.

Tip 2:

Use cream products. I don't often contour my cheekbones but when I do I always use a cream contour. It blends very smoothly and creates a softer shadow than powder. Cream blush is also amazing. A cream blush will give you a very soft dewy flush of colour on the cheeks. Layered with powder blush it will also help the longevity of your makeup. My cream blush pick - Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Stick Blush.

Tip 3:

Use bronzer before blush. I always apply bronzer before my blush. Always. I do this because the steps in which you apply certain products really do matter. You wouldn't apply your primer after foundation would you? No, because steps matter. This particular step is a big one to me. I recommend lightly applying bronzer around the edges of your cheeks and forehead then sweep whatever product is leftover on your brush down the bridge of your nose and lightly on your chin. And remember bronzer is not to be confused with contouring. Most bronzers are much warmer tones and often have a bit of shimmer so do not use a bronzer to contour with. After applying bronzer add a little blush to the cheek bones. If done in reverse your blush can end up looking muddy which is not something any of us is after... ever. Bronzer pick - Chanel Soleil Tan Cream Gel.

Tip 4:

Highlighting is everything. Who doesn't love radiant and glowing skin?! Highlighting has been around forever. All it took was a few years focused on contouring for everyone to re-discover their love for it. There are two places you should always highlight; cheekbones and cupids bow of lips. I also like to highlight along the bridge of the nose and under the brow bone. Try - Dior Forever Couture Luminizer Highlighter Powder.

Tip 5:

Finishing touches. After all of your makeup is complete I like to go in with a finishing brush or use my sponge and ever so lightly blend out all the edges for a seamless look.
