Every year I generally stick to the same goals, eat better and workout more. Now don’t get me wrong one of my 2016 resolutions is to be more healthy but I also have a few beauty resolutions to add this year. A big part of wanting to be healthier has to do with the fact that I am now in my 30’s and noticing changes in my skin. In my opinion this problem can be helped two ways; diet and skincare. Which leads me to my first beauty resolution...
We are starting 2016 with a two week vacation to Antigua. I am so excited since it is my first time traveling to the Caribbean. We will be sailing from Antigua to St. Barts with a few stops along the way. Since we won't be in a hotel where there is room for a large suitcase I had to be clever packing. Here are a few staples I am bringing in my carry-on...
Confession, ever since I created this bronze cat-eye look for Jill from The August diaries, I have rocked it on myself for practically every Holiday party I've attended. There is something so simplistic yet elegant about this bronze eyeliner. I just can't get enough. Take a look below at the third look in the Holiday Makeup Tutorial Series photographed by Britney Gill...
I am a tad obsessed with gold, glitter and the Holidays. My beauty routine is fairly simple so when it comes to my nails I will often go bright or sparkly. In the past I have done glitter tips or just one nail on each hand with glitter but this year I decided to go all out with gold sparkly nails. Perfect for New Years!
It happens to the best of us, one after work cocktail at happy hour leads to crawling into bed at 2am. Usually for me it's when I am catching up with a close girlfriend and we get caught up in the convo before realizing it is 1am and we have had more than just a glass of wine each. Then you wake up the next day feeling oh so wonderful but have to go on with the day regardless, because going back to bed isn't an option. For times like these a good post-late night action plan is all you need to help you get back to feeling great or at least get you through the day. Here are my 5 steps to jump start your beauty recovery after a late night...
The second look I created for The Holiday Tutorial Series with The August Diaries founder Jill Lansky is a golden smokey eye look. The first look in the series, Deep Red Lips focused on the lips, keeping the eyes totally bare. See the red lips tutorial here but first take a look below at this smokey eye, lash + nude lips look...
I have always been aware of my skins appearance, mainly due to bad breakouts that started at a young age. Then once I got into makeup I really took notice of the texture of my skin and how it looked with foundation or powder. Something I didn't always pay attention to was any of the extras after cleansing, moisturizing and occasionally toning. Then I turned 32 this year and, well to put it bluntly, I started freaking out about aging. Now don't get me wrong, 32 is not old but I think now it is time for me really to add certain skincare steps to my routine as a preventative step. Coming up over the next few months I will be writing more about skincare as I learn about and discover new products...
I love the holidays. It is one of my favourite times of the year. There are tons of activities around the city and lots of weekend holiday parties. With this being such a busy time of year, sometimes I don’t have much time to get myself ready. My go-to look is wavy hair, winged eyeliner and red lips...
